FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

I often receive a lot of questions about myself, my company, and so much more. I thought it would be perfect to gather all of the questions and provide FAQ’s for you guys. I’ll update this as new questions arise.

Do you use studio or natural lighting?
I am a natural light photographer however on occasion I may bring along artificial lighting.

Do you shoot in color and black and white?
I shoot everything in color – I will later convert images to black and white in some instances.

Are you located in a studio?
As of now I do not own a studio. I am currently on-location. This means you’re able choose the location in which your session will take place (at home, a park, beach, etc) or I am able to suggest a few places for you.

What type of services do you offer?
I offer a wide range of services. Some services or options available (but not limited to): makeup application, wardrobe styling, headshots, model portfolio building, weddings, portraits, and much more.

How much do you charge?
The amount varies upon the session you choose. Please contact me for the pricing info.

What’s included in a session fee?
The session fee covers a portion of the photographers talent & time. This includes the session itself as well as basic digital retouching of any images. The fee itself does not include any prints, products, or additional services.

Are you willing to travel outside of your stated area? If so are there any additional costs?
Yes, I love to travel! There is an additional fee and is determined based off mile radius/distance.

How far in advance can I book a session?
I encourage you to book early! Depending on the type of session of choice 2-3 weeks or more in advance would be perfect.

How do I book/reserve a session?
Generally we’d have an in-person/over the phone consultation. During this consult we’ll discuss dates, times, budget, etc. Once we have discussed the items mentioned a security deposit & agreement is required to reserve/hold any date. What type of payment forms are accepted?I accept all forms of payment including Paypal, Cash, Check, & Credit..

How long does the session last?
This will range depending on your session choice. Typically a portrait session will not exceed 2 hours.

How many images will you take during our session?
This will vary. I don’t limit the images shot within your session. I shoot for the scheduled amount of time. Now to give you an idea as to how many images may be taken…I may take 50-100 images per hour.

How many people can be apart of the session?
A typical session fee will include up to five people. In the event you want to add anyone? That’s fine! There will be a small fee in addition that will apply.

How many wardrobe changes?
This depends on your session choice. The standard portrait session includes one outfit.

What should I wear?
The best thing about CocoJane Photography is styling assistance is available. If you do not choose our stylist to assist with your choice of wardrobe we also have “What to Wear” ideas we can place within your “Welcome” packet. Please take a look at our styling page for more tips.

What happens after the session?
Prior to setting up your gallery I’ll either post or send you sneak-peeks of your session. This will typically be anywhere from 2-4 images. About 2-3 weeks after your session I will send you a password protected online gallery with the best images from the session. You will then have the ability to purchase prints, CD/DVD, and more.

Do you carry back-up equipment?
Yes. This is extremely important. When dealing with technology nothing is 100% so it’s best to be prepared for any mishaps that may occur.

Do you offer touch-ups? Are there any additional cost?
Yes, I offer touch up services. I typically will edit the images in my digital darkroom to fit my style – any additional edits outside of what’s provided additional fees may apply.

Do you provide images on CD/DVD?
Yes. Upon completion of your session we can discuss how you can obtain digital copies of your images.

Do you have a referral or inventive program?
Yes, I have created a new & improved referral program for 2012. Once you are a client of CocoJane Photography’s you will receive referral details & discounts offered once you refer someone & they have successfully completed a session with us.
