Hello! I’m Janine, Owner and Sole Photographer of CocoJane Photography. Thank you so much for visiting my website and portfolio. I cannot express how much I love what I do. I get the opportunity to meet amazing people all the time. The connection I’m able to make with people from all different walks of life has to be one of the most rewarding experiences ever.
I am a lifestyle and portrait photographer based in Southwest Ohio. I have been a professional photographer and makeup artist collectively for about 4 years. As a photographer I want to provide my clients with an experience unlike any you have experienced before. I want to create images that are timeless and truly capture your personality.
When I began CocoJane Photography I was inspired by the family photos on display in my childhood home. The pictures were simple, posed unnaturally, and did not show how fun we were as a family; while these pictures hold a lot of memories and are dear to my family and I – WE as a family were not captured. This is what inspired me to create a photography business centered on lifestyle photography. I found myself drawn to those candid and unexpected images, instead of images that are absent of a person’s true spirit. I want my photographs to always showcase a person’s true personality, spirit, and character.
With extensive knowledge and experience in wardrobe styling, makeup, and photography I set out to create a one-of-a-kind session for every client from the moment I am contacted to the moment your order is fulfilled. I take my clients satisfaction very seriously. I am happy you’ve stopped by and I hope this has given you a little insight into who I am; along with my vision as a photographer.
If you’re not familiar with the type of work I create please take a look around and if you are ready to book a session of your own – let’s get started! I’d love to talk with you more.
What made you get into photography?
I love being able to express myself creatively, be passionate about what I do, and meet amazing people within the process.
This is MY passion. I have completely immersed myself within the world of art & photography. I set out to explore and learn more about it than I did the day before. I had the opportunities to go with careers that would not make me nearly as happy as what I do now. The passion behind my work is what enables me to give my clients the best experience…
How long have you been into photography?
I have loved the art of photography years before I actually purchased my first camera. Prior to being a photographer I was a makeup artist – With being a makeup artist I worked on set with photographers which kind of catapulted my love for photography.
What inspires you?
I find inspiration in everything! I try to find inspiration in my surroundings, people I come in contact with, magazines I read, etc. Sometimes I may take a drive with no destination in mind and then VOILA an idea comes to mind. I think in life we have the ability to gather ideas or inspiration from everything and everyone we encounter.
Describe a session with CocoJane Photography.
If I had to use one word to describe a session with me it would be FUN. I want my clients to feel relaxed, let loose, and be themselves – this is when the magic seems to happen. Apart of getting this outcome is I take time to get to know my clients a little. This allows me to personalize their session & it takes away the “stranger” element. Not only that but makes them feel comfortable enough to let their hair down.
How are you different from the other photographers?
I think we’re all alike in the sense we have love for the art form, but everyone interprets life differently so our styles will never be the same. I think I bring a fresh and unique perspective. My objective is to always tell a story within the images I photograph.
How would you describe your style?
When I first began CocoJane Photography I would’ve described my style as traditional portraits with a creative edge. After 4 years of learning, honing my skill, perfecting my craft, and challenging myself creatively – I’d describe my style of shooting as candid, modern, fashion influenced, and creative.
What are some of your favorite locations to shoot?
Some of my favorite locations are those with a lot of character. I try to find very interesting and unique locations for my clients. I have a few favorites I may revisit from time to time but photograph different areas to ensure no two sessions look alike.
I have also began working with a location scout to ensure I have a catalog of locations to choose from. So get ready 2012 clients for some amazing stuff.
What would you say to someone looking to book you for a session?
I know it’s a little difficult to get a feel for who I am over the internet which is why I would love to speak with you over the phone or in-person. I think it’s important that we do so prior to booking a session so that we have a clear understanding of each other’s vision. So if you have questions or any concerns about anything feel free to get in contact with me. I’d love to hear from you.
